Rowan, a biracial teenager living in contemporary Oklahoma discovers a long-dead body in her home, and Will Tillman, another biracial teen coming of age in the 1920s meets the Goodhopes, two young African-American children who will challenge Will’s values and push him into the middle of the Tulsa race riots.
